This notice applies to our customers that have BMSB affected imports to Australia with certain goods manufactured on or after the 1st December 2018.

An exemption to BMSB measures is in place if an importer has manufactured goods consisting of:

• New Machinery
• Vehicles
• Vessels
• New Complex parts and equipment

The list shown above is applicable to manufactured goods that fall into Import Tariff Chapters 82, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88 and 89 only.
Sufficient evidence is required on import that is submitted to DAWR by VISA Customs Brokers.

The evidence that is required includes:

• Manufacturers declaration and/or commercial invoice.
• Suppliers and/or Manufacturers declaration stating the goods are new, unused and not field tested
• Verification of manufactured date (on or after 1st December 2018) via labelling on the goods

Any declarations supplied to DAWR must meet minimum documentary and import declaration requirements. In general, declarations must be on a letterhead, signed, signatory position title, dated and have a numerical link to the imported shipment.
