BMSB season is almost upon us and as such, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have issued updates to the Import Health Standards to ensure these pests are controlled and not introduced into New Zealand.
Both Import Health Standards, Vehicles, Machinery and Parts and Sea Containers from all countries include new guidelines to the requirements for importing goods from BMSB risk countries.

For the 2019-20 BMSB risk season, the measures will apply to Risk Goods manufactured in, or exported from Actionable BMSB Countries as sea cargo on or after 1 September 2019 and arrive in New Zealand
on or before 30 April 2020 inclusive. All vessels that berth at, load or tranship from an actionable BMSB country are also subject to the BMSB measures.
