VGL understands and refers to ‘on-time delivery’ to mean within 1 hour of the allocated delivery time.

From October to February, VGL, like all carriers, have to manage a much more difficult and unpredictable operational landscape;

1. Increased container volumes of +30% due to your peak importing programs;
2. Increased and unpredictable times taken to collect containers from terminals;
3. Congestion at empty yards causing increased and unpredictable times taken to de-hire empty containers;
4. Increased traffic congestion which leads to increased delivery delays.

Consequently, during this peak season, we must change our delivery process from set delivery times to a ‘delivery window’ protocol.

The delivery windows, effective Monday 28 October 2019 will be:

1. 5am – 8am.
2. 8am – 11am.
3. 11am – 2pm.
4. 2pm – 5pm.
5. 5pm – 9pm
6. Night – 9pm – 5am.

VGL will be working 24 hours, 6 to 7 days a week to tackle the pressures of peak season. Our objective is to minimise impact on your business.

VGL requests that clients take advantage of this opportunity to receive deliveries outside of ‘normal business hours’ either overnight or on weekends so your business doesn’t experience further delays in receiving your shipments during this busy period.

Should you require any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact our National Transport Manager – Operations, Michael Punter on 0434 074 477.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
