The Department of Agriculture introduced new documentary requirements for preserved fruits and vegetables for human consumption effective from 5 December 2019.
To comply with the new requirement, documentary evidence must be produced at time of importation that the goods have been commercially prepared or processed by one of the following methods:
• Aseptically packaged, or
Documentary evidence may be presented on a Manufacturer’s Declaration or commercial documentation such as an Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, Product Specification List or Food Product Label (e.g. “Canned Peaches”).
